The story of a New Hampshire mother and son running the Boston Marathon together started almost 18 years ago when she named her son Boston. Lauren Strob went to college in Boston and really loves the city. "I can't imagine him being anything else," Lauren Strob said of her son's name. Boston Strob, 17, runs track at Salem High School but he would not consider himself a long-distance runner. His mother was not a runner at all.

Remy St. Germain started "Remy's Ride" three years ago in honor of his cousin, Sophia, who died at the age of 4 after a brave battle with cancer. Most recently, the Holden teenager rode 100 miles to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, raising roughly $10,000 for charity, bringing his total over the course of three years to $30,000. The money benefits childhood cancer awareness and research.
