DENVER — The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is hoping the community will help out in building more herd immunity against measles, especially for babies too young to be vaccinated, now that there are three confirmed cases in Colorado. “I think as scary it is as it is to see these couple cases,” Dr. Danielle Dhaliwal said.

DENVER — Denver7 talked to DU Professor Ian Farrell, a legal and political expert, about how President Donald Trump’s executive order to change how elections are run will impact Colorado. One part that is getting a lot of attention, is the requirement to prove citizenship when voting in federal elections. “The purported reason for this being in the executive order is to prevent widespread voter fraud in the form of non-citizens from voting,” Professor Farrell said.

AURORA, Colo. — Denver7 talked to an expert who said lithium-ion batteries have completely changed how fire departments respond to emergencies like the crash that killed one person near Buckley Space Force Base on Monday. Five other people, including children are still recovering. Investigators say a total of four cars, including an Aurora police car were involved. Then an electric vehicle burst into flames, in part, because the battery was damaged.

DENVER — New research out of the University of Colorado Boulder shows that breathing in Colorado’s crisp mountain air is more a luxury than a guarantee. In fact, researchers found minority communities and those with lower household incomes are more likely to live in neighborhoods near facilities that emit bad smells. "There are significant health impacts from experiencing bad odors," University of Colorado Denver Assistant Professor Priyanka DeSouza said.
