Try to hit as many kids attractions on this list as you can!There’s something unique about West Michigan that you can’t reproduce anywhere else. No one else has ArtPrize or the Big Red Button. I don’t know of any other grocery stores that have Sandy the Penny Horse. I bet we have the only weather ball, and I KNOW that we have the only true Santa Claus.

Don’t skip the best part of dinner – the delicious dessert at the end. Dessert is basically what I look forward to at every restaurant in Grand Rapids, yet not all places have a stellar dessert game. Local candy shops consistently deliver, and there isn’t an ice cream place in West Michigan that’s a dud. But finding an amazing dessert in Grand Rapids feels elusive. I was at a very popular Grand Rapids brewery last month and excitedly ordered cast-iron bourbon apples. Should have been a knockout.

Construction began on September 3, 2024, and exciting new features like a splash pad, mountain bike trails, and a revamped playground are all part of the plan. Take a ride on a horse-drawn wagon through the farm at Robinette's to enjoy the fall colors. For 2023, hayrides are offered on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in September and Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in October. Rides start at 1 PM on Thursdays and Fridays, and 11 AM on Saturdays. The last ride is at 5:30 PM. The hayride is $12 for ages 3 and up. Children 2 and under ride free. Walk-ups are welcome on Saturdays this year. Dogs are not allowed on the hayrides.
