ALFRED, Maine (WGME) -- Police are looking for new leads in the disappearance of a 3-year-old Maine boy in Alfred in 1971. On June 2, 1971, around 10:30 a.m., Maine State Police say 3-year-old Douglas Chapman was reported missing by his mother. Police say Douglas was last seen playing by a sand pile about 25 yards in front of his home. His mother was inside the home on the telephone at the time, and his father was at work. Douglas has not been seen since.

CORINNA, Maine (WGME) – A Maine man is accused of firing a gun inside a home in Corinna during a family fight. The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a report of a family fight at a home on Moody Mills Road in Corinna around 7:45 p.m. on Sunday. Deputies say a man, later identified as 50-year-old Jeremy Eldridge of Corinna, fired a gun during the altercation. The suspect left the scene before deputies arrived. Eldridge later turned himself into deputies.

The service is now available at four county jails in the state: Aroostook, Penobscot, Somerset, and Two Bridges Regional Jail, which covers Lincoln and Sagadahoc counties. Participation in the program is voluntary. Those who register will have the choice to remain anonymous.

POWNAL, Maine (WGME) -- Authorities say a Maine motorcyclist has been critically injured after crashing into a tree in Pownal while trying to pass a vehicle. The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened around 7:45 p.m. on Thursday on Elmwood Road. Deputies say a 23-year-old motorcyclist from Poland tried to pass another vehicle on a blind corner, lost control, and hit a tree. The motorcyclist was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland with critical injuries.

US Border Patrol Houlton Sector says agents arrested the illegal migrant from El Salvador last Friday near Rangeley. The suspect’s name has not been released. Border Patrol says the suspect was wanted by Interpol for aggravated murder in El Salvador. No other information has been released at this time.
