The station transmits a high-definition digital signal on UHF channel 38 from its transmitter located on Brown Hill, just west of Raymond. Owned by the Sinclair Broadcast Group, WGME-TV operates its studios on Northport Drive in the North Deering area of Portland, as well as in the Lewiston/Auburn region and at the state capitol in Augusta.

The U.S. Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against Maine Wednesday over its policy allowing transgender girls to compete on girls sports teams. The DOJ argues that the policy violates Title IX, the federal law prohibiting sex-based discrimination in education.

    BANGOR (WGME) – Maine Governor Janet Mills spoke publicly Thursday for the first time since the Department of Justice filed a lawsuit against the state. The lawsuit, filed Wednesday, claims Maine is violating Title IX by allowing transgender student-athletes to compete in girls sports.
