    LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Over 70 gambling machines and nearly $50,000 in cash were confiscated after multiple search warrants were executed. The raids targeted eight-liner businesses, also known as maquinitas, located on the 300 block of Market St. on Wednesday afternoon, April 30. Two employees were arrested after the Laredo Police Department’s response team seized 38 machines and $32,000 from a single location. At another location further up the street, 33 machines and $17,000 were stolen.

Additionally, the order empowers the Department of Transportation to place non-English speaking drivers out of service. Because of this, the Laredo trucking community is speaking out on the potential effects this can have on their job. Truck drivers we spoke with agree that knowing English is important for safety and communication on U.S. roads.
