It was in the high 90s in most of the Las Vegas Valley on Saturday, inching closer and closer to triple-digit weather, according to the National Weather Service. The agency reports that if and when it does hit 100 degrees, it will be the first time this year. Across the valley, temperatures reached 99 degrees at Nellis Air Force Base, Henderson, and parts of Las Vegas with winds between 13 and 22 miles per hour, the weather service reported.

Two children are dead after a crash just northeast of Las Vegas on Sunday afternoon, according to a Nevada Highway Patrol press release. The crash on northbound Interstate 15, near mile marker 100 and Carp Elgin Road involved multiple vehicles. Troopers arrived to the crash at 3:28 p.m. to find the two deceased children and multiple other people injured. Another person was in critical condition and airlifted by Mercy Air, according to the release.

A single engine plane with four people on board crashed Sunday morning on Las Vegas Boulevard, South, just north of Jean, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

Authorities sent out an amber alert about an alleged kidnapping of a baby on Monday afternoon. According to the alert, authorities are looking for a noncustodial mother who took her 10-month-old child in the Fallon, Nevada, area around 8 a.m.The alert identifies the mother as Chelsea Daniels, who is driving a 2006 Ford Explorer with a Nevada license plate numbered 714S57. Daniels is armed, according to the amber alert.

A fatal crash has lead to road closures at the intersection of Warm Springs Road and Paradise Road. According to a press release from Nevada State Police, troopers responded to a crash report at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The crash that left one man dead “involved a motorcycle and a sedan,” the report said. A woman was also “transported to a local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”The road closures have impacted Warm Springs Road in all directions and the Interstate 215 entrance close by.
