KILLEEN, Texas — Killeen city officials announced that Killeen Fire Captain Marvin Taylor III was killed in a car crash early Sunday morning. Taylor had just left an Austin hospital after welcoming his fifth child. Another vehicle hit Taylor while he driving to pick up his other children. "He was a highly respected and decorated member of our Fire Department, serving since 2014 and most recently assigned to the Training Division," reads a release from the city.

FORT CAVAZOS, Texas (KXXV) — Fort Cavazos officials are investigating an incident involving a federal contractor's death Thursday, March 6 at the Clabber Creek Multi-Use Range. "It is with deep sorrow that we confirm the tragic loss of a contracted employee who was involved in an incident on one of our training ranges. COPPERAS COVE, Texas (KXXV) — Copperas Cove police are investigating a murder after responding to a call Saturday morning. They have a suspect in custody. Officers were sent out to a home in the 900 block of Tanner Drive after 11:30 a.m. for reports of a gunshot victim. They found a 31-year-old woman with gunshot wounds. She was sent to the hospital, and later died from her injuries. After investigating the scene and speaking with witnesses, police found a suspect at a nearby hotel.
