After letting go of 120 employees last year, mobile technology company AppLovin is laying off 89 more. This round of layoffs will include the CEO of MZ Games, according to a letter filed with the state’s Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification program in January. That would be Thomas Wells, a long-term employee of MZ Games who replaced co-founder Kristen Dumont in 2023. AppLovin acquired Palo Alto-based MZ Games, formerly known as Machine Zone, in 2020.

A real estate couple is buying up Main Street properties in Los Altos to bring in new businesses to the area and build generational wealth for their family. Adam Levin and his wife, Ella, bought their fourth Main Street property on Wednesday from Elizabeth Nyberg, former publisher of Los Altos Town Crier.

The CEO is looking to grow a new breakfast venture in California. He already owns lots of Jack in the Box, Del Taco and Denny's restaurants in the region. There’s a lot that goes into running one restaurant. Yet, Garren Grieve oversees 69 of them as CEO of Seaside Dining Group. With 28 of those restaurants being Denny’s franchises, the international restaurant chain asked the Aliso Viejo-based Seaside Dining Group to help it hatch a new venture, Keke’s Breakfast Cafe, in California.

The 7,000-square-foot property has six bedrooms, six bathrooms and a guest house. A Microsoft executive and his wife bought a luxury home in Palo Alto. Santa Clara County records show that Manik Gupta and Nidhi Sharma purchased the home in November for an estimated $12.85 million. Gupta is the corporate vice president of Microsoft Teams, and his wife, Sharma, works at career support provider Liftery in its strategic partnerships division. The couple bought the home from a group of individuals.

The company gave a tour of the mass-timber building. Google unveiled the inside of its new eco-friendly Moffett Park building on Wednesday. The 1265 Borregas Ave. office is Google’s first mass-timber building and the fastest building it has ever erected.
