    MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) — A portion of Catherine Street just north of Government Street is closed due to sinkholes in the roadway. According to the City of Mobile, its engineering department is working to repair underground infrastructure and determine the cause of the sinkholes. Most drivers turning left onto Catherine Street from Government Street on Friday morning had no idea a portion of the road was closed. Many of them used the parking lot of a grocery store to turn around.
