Longtime Tennessee high school basketball coach Tony Shutes announced his retirement. Shutes coached at three schools: University School of Jackson, Jackson Central-Merry, and Jackson Christian. Tony Shutes has retired as Jackson Christian's girls basketball coach after three seasons. Shutes announced his retirement April 11 on his Facebook page after guiding Jackson Christian to a 21-12 record this past season.
