Following months of deliberations and few easy choices, the Multnomah County Board of Commissioners adopted a $4 billion budget Thursday. The amended financial blueprint for the 2026 fiscal year saves several major programs originally on the chopping block, offsetting much of those costs by eliminating vacant positions. But the board still voted to eliminate dozens of positions and several programs amid the budget shortfall.
