The Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, has urged Muslims not to let the Nigerian factor derail their efforts to be good servants of Allah. JNI secretary-general Prof. Khalid Abubakar Aliyu, in a statement on the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, said that despite the seeming socio-economic deprivations and security challenges, Muslims must not relent in prayers.

The Middle-Belt United Assembly (MBUA) has condemned the call for the suspension of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, describing those behind the plot as desperate politicians. In a statement issued by the group’s national president, Comrade Moses Aji, after its emergency meeting held in Kaduna at the weekend, the group said Akume has never been indicted by any court or any anti-corruption agency.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the 19 Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has condemned the persistent attacks and killings in some Benue communities. CAN said these acts of violence have led to the tragic loss of innocent lives and widespread destruction of property. In a statement issued by the Northern CAN chairman, Rev. Yakubu Pam, said the scale and frequency of these attacks have made it nearly impossible for farmers to access their lands.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammed Sa’ad Abubakar III has charged Nigerians to play down on religous and ethnic differences for the nation to attain its greatness. He noted that other economically successful countries have been able to overcome such differences for their greatness. The Sultan also commended President Bola Tinubu for promoting religious tolerance in Nigeria, adding that the President’s move was responsibile for the economic gains recorded across the country.

The Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Oluwatosin Ajayi has donated a modern Islamic Centre to cater for orphans and the less privileged in Danbushiya community, Millennium City, Chikun local government area of Kaduna State. The Islamic Centre which was named after President Bola Tinubu was presented on behalf of the DSS boss by a retired director of the Service, Alhaji Ahmed Zalmar at the Second Quranic Graduation Ceremony of 22 students at the school on Saturday.
