    The Texas A&M University College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts will host the World Shakuhachi Festival April 17-20. Dr. Martin Regan, a professor in the Music Performance program, organized the festival, which will be held in Texas for the first time. The quadrennial event debuted in Japan in 1994, and it was most recently held in London in 2018.

    Chillennium, known as the world’s largest student-run collegiate game jam, returns Feb. 7-9 at the Hildebrand Equine Center on the Texas A&M University campus. Students from across the country will compete to create a fully functioning and playable video game based on a single prompt in just 48 hours. The event is sponsored by the Texas A&M College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts, which includes Game Design and Development in the Visualization program.

    Choreographers from across Texas will present their work at the Brazos Contemporary Dance Festival on Sept. 13 and 14. The event is hosted by the Dance Science program in the College of Performance, Visualization and Fine Arts. Visiting choreographers will present their work alongside Dance Science faculty members, and students in the program will perform. The concerts will be at 7 p.m. in the Black Box Theater at the Physical Education Activity Program Building.

    A curated selection of paintings, sculptures, animated shorts, game design, graphic design and research by Visualization students will be featured in the 31st annual Viz-a-GoGo, starting Thursday and continuing through Saturday night at the Rudder Theatre Complex. Viz-a-GoGo is student-run and features the “best of the best” work from the summer, fall and spring semesters, according to Andersen Wood, screening and research symposium director for Viz-a-GoGo and a junior Visualization student.
