Fire crews responded to a massive boat fire on Lake of the Ozarks Friday afternoon. The Mid-County Fire District (MCFD) was dispatched to a reported boat explosion at 12:14 p.m. Friday, June 27. The incident occured at the 5-65 Marina in the southern part of the lake in Camdenton. There were initial reports that one person had been injured. Upon arrival, first responders found the boat fully involved in fire, according to an MCFD press release.

People may begin to notice some law enforcement in Greene County sporting a slightly new look to keep cool in the summer and have better access to their equipment. The Sheriff’s Office announced on June 26, 2025, Greene County deputies are now able to display their visible tattoos, instead of having to cover them up. “Previously, tattoos had to be covered by long sleeves or compression sleeves, even during the hottest months,” The Sheriff’s Office said in a release Thursday morning.
