It was 113 years ago today, on April 15, 1912, when the Titanic struck an iceberg in the North Atlantic. Of the total 2,240 passengers and crew on board, more than 1,500 lives were lost and 706 survived. As part of Titanic Remembrance Week, the anniversary is being marked with a special event at the Titanic Museum Attraction in Branson, Missouri. On April 16th and 17th, the attraction is welcoming back one of its most dedicated and long-standing collectors, Tony Probst, for a special visit.

April is Parkinson’s Disease Awareness Month, and this week, Ozarks First is highlighting one group in our community focused on helping people navigate their health following a diagnosis. Parkinson’s Group of the Ozarks is a non-profit organization that has been serving the Ozarks for more than 25 years.

GREENE COUNTY, Mo. — Marjorie Shelton has been a witness to the ever-changing process of elections. At 96, the Willard native has helped citizens cast their local ballots since 1954. She’s going on 71 years of serving as a Greene County election judge. On March 25th, a few weeks ahead of the April Municipal Election, Shelton was honored by the Greene County Clerk’s Office and the Greene County Commission with a proclamation for service to the community.
