ELM GROVE, W.Va. (WTRF) – The Easter Bunny is coming early this year at Bethlehem Apostolic Temple, where they are giving away baskets of goods for those in need this holiday. They held a Stuff the Bus event at Riesbeck’s in Elm Grove for community members to shop and donate to help fill the Easter Baskets they will be giving away in the next few weeks. A list of suggested items was available for those who showed up to donate.

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio (WTRF) – It was a special evening in Jefferson County, as Franciscan University of Steubenville held their 56th Annual Baron Club Awards Dinner. The Baron Club honoree this year is Leo Lanaghan and The Kuzma Community Award was presented to the Tom and Sarah Gentile family. The keynote speaker was Cleveland Browns Head Coach Kevin Stefanski.

WEIRTON, W.Va. (WTRF) – A longtime community volunteer who believed in continuing education throughout life was remembered through a poetry symposium at the Mary H. Weir Public Library in Weirton. Pam Makricosta was the coordinator for the Adult Literacy and Lifelong Learning Program at the library, and a volunteer at the Weirton Area Museum and Cultural Center. Makricosta led a writer and poets’ group which met two to three times a year.

WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) – Mother’s Day is coming up in only a month and if you’re looking for the perfect girls’ day, the annual Empowerfest Women’s Wellness Event is coming to Wheeling. It’s hosted by the “Ask Yourself Why Not?” Podcast. On May 17th, Empowerfest Wheeling is returning to Waterfront Hall with networking opportunities, self-care vendors, exercise samplers to move your body, and more. The event was sold out last year, so they have doubled the number of available tickets for this year.
