The traffic lights at the Wick Wick Roundabout on the A4174 Ring Road are to be switched off from the middle of next month for about 11 weeks. Drivers are being warned to expect disruption at the roundabout when it will operate as a give-way junction. In a letter, local residents are told that improvement works are taking place at the roundabout from 16th June as part of South Gloucestershire Council’s ongoing investment in local infrastructure to improve safety and access for all road users.

A family hub run by South Gloucestershire Council and Cabot Learning Federation in Kingswood opened to great fanfare last month – but it didn’t have planning permission, and the application has now been refused by the council’s own planning team over safety concerns. As a result, it is currently closed while a revised planning application is prepared to address the problems.

Residents and businesses in Keynsham are being asked for their views on a shortlist of ideas – including pedestrianisation – about how the town centre could be “revitalised” for the future. The ideas in the Keynsham Town Centre Regeneration Action Plan also include improvements to the town’s Memorial Park and the removal of the weir. At present, the High Street is one-way southbound with a contraflow cycle lane between Charlton Road and Temple Street.

103 Club @ Weston Children’s Centre in Bath has retained its Good Ofsted rating following a recent inspection. There are 95 children on the roll at the club at Penn Hill Road, which had last been inspected in 2019. As well as being a pre-school, the club offers a breakfast club and after-school provision and is also open for school-age children during school holidays.
