A West London council has been criticised after suggesting a man may have been eligible for supported housing before concluding he could not afford the accommodation, a result he claimed was reached ‘without proper explanation’. The Housing Ombudsman also found Hammersmith and Fulham Council had not prepared a Personal Housing Plan for the individual, named Mr X, describing the error as causing an ‘injustice’.

A West London council is looking to allow for more events in a Hammersmith park to bring in additional income and increase choice for residents. Hammersmith and Fulham Council has applied to vary its licence at St Paul's Green to extend its hours and remove an existing limit on when it can be used. Currently the licence is only available for one Thursday, Friday and Saturday in October a year.

One in four pupils due to start primary in Hammersmith and Fulham in September were not offered a place at their preferred school - the lowest percentage of any London borough. The West London locality, in which all schools are rated either good or outstanding by Ofsted, was closely followed by neighbouring Kensington and Chelsea, where 74.8 per cent of pupils got an offer from their first-choice destination.

City of London residents will see changes to their bin collections over the upcoming Easter weekend. This year Good Friday and Easter Monday fall on April 18 and 21. The City of London Corporation, the Square Mile's governing body, does not pick up waste or recycling on bank holidays, meaning there will be some disruption. No household collection services will take place on either Good Friday or Easter Monday.
