Proposed changes to Australia’s merger control regime were introduced to Parliament last month following extensive public consultation. As a key element of the reforms, the new legislation will enable the ACCC to request that the Treasurer designate certain sectors of the economy where all mergers, acquisitions or other transactions would require approval from the ACCC, regardless of transaction size.

Organizers plan to have multiple speakers talk about Jaymes and the marker’s importance. The event also will include music, a bounce house, games, books and free food while supplies last. “Come help us celebrate this Springfield legend,” The Conscious Connect said in a social media post. Jaymes opened his practice in Springfield in 1903 and “provided free legal services to the Black community during a time of profound racial tension,” according to the Clark County Heritage Center.

Crews from Ohio Edison and Springfield Twp. fire department were on the scene. Nichole Ullery was on Seminole Avenue and said she thought it was a tornado. Winds hit a neighbor’s roof, causing significant damage, and knocked a tree into another neighbor’s house. Ullery described the sky as “really, really white” on one side of the system. The system knocked a utility pole and lines down.

The franchise conducted open interviews at COhatch in Springfield on Friday. 7 Brew plans to hire 50 employees here. People come for the coffee and other drinks, but they return because of the vibe, according to Maddie Turner, a regional manager for 7 Brew. “What we really are selling is the experience,” Turner said. “The culture brings people back.”That includes music and singing, high energy and personal contact. “We’ve been out everywhere” looking for sites,” Books said.

Mar. 6—One week ago today, Clark County's strongest tornado in 50 years destroyed or damaged roughly 100 homes. Mother Nature's worst, however, brought out the best in those who suffered the most damage and in the family, friends and strangers who have shown up day after day since to help clean up and console. The EF-2 tornado with maximum wind speeds of 130 mph touched down about 5 a.m. east of Clark-Shawnee's schools and continued for about 21 miles into Madison County.

The EF-2 tornado with maximum wind speeds of 130 mph touched down about 5 a.m. east of Clark-Shawnee’s schools and continued for about 21 miles into Madison County. Much of the damage happened on roads some Clark County residents barely know: Mitchell, Ridge, Newlove, Fletcher-Chapel and Plattsburg, to name a few. News-Sun photographer Bill Lackey, who has chronicled the Clark County community for 24 years, talked about the grace people have shown him, from the victims to the helpers.
