COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - Columbus Police are investigating an incident at a funeral home parking lot on Buena Vista Road. Police were called out to the scene at Lamb's International Funeral Home in the 3000 block of Buena Vista Road for a reported crash in the 9 a.m. hour on Wednesday morning. Bystanders said a truck crashed into parked vehicles in the parking lot area of the funeral home.

WEST POINT, Ga. (WTVM) - After a billion dollar investment and a decade and a half later, the Kia manufacturing facility in West Point has become a staple business. Now, the plant is expecting to roll out its 5-millionth vehicle in 2025. This year is the facilityโs 15th year of mass production and itโs already an industrial powerhouse. Stuart Countess, the CEO of KIA Georgia, said the U.S. was a โprime areaโ for Kia. โThereโs numbers out there that there was about 13% unemployment,โ he explained.

Alan Harkness has been tabbed by his peers as "Library Director of the Year" for the state of Georgia. Harkness has decades of experience in the field and has been an innovator of growth for the Chattahoochee Valley Libraries System that he oversees. Harkness led the charge to get rid of late fines - making the library more open and welcome to the entire community.
