LAGRANGE — Crisis Intervention Training is a new wave of training for first responders that is making its way across the state. As of Friday evening, LaGrange pushed it’s second class of CIT graduates through. With their graduation, they are presented with a CIT pin. You can expect to see those pins appearing on the chests of more and more local first responders, law enforcement and other government officials.

5 booked into LaGrange County JailLAGRANGE — Five people were booked into the LaGrange County Jail on Thursday, according to jail records. Mary Williams, 46, of the 300 block of South C.R. 1150E, LaGrange, was arrested at 2 a.m. Thursday by LaGrange town police on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. No additional charging information provided. Williams posted bail Thursday and is out on bond.

LAGRANGE — It might not arrive in the bright shade of firetruck red that Board President Ray Hoover has an affinity for, but a “no-brainer” move made by the LaGrange Town Council and Volunteer Fire Department will welcome a new fire-fighting horse to the stable in the near future. The LaGrange Town Council made a motion to allow Fire Chief Jeremy Edwards to go ahead with an inspection and purchase process for a new ladder engine to replace the one currently being used by the department.

LAGRANGE — The new addition at the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office is nearing it’s final completion date, and with it came some routine business for the Board of County Commissioners. Commissioners Terry Martin, Peter Cook and Kevin Myers met at their regular time on Monday morning at the LaGrange County Annex. Amongst other things on the docket, were two motions regarding the county sheriff’s office and the construction project that has been in progress since October.

LAGRANGE — Strong industry and a lucrative commercial sector are the backbone of any thriving community, and it falls upon the county’s Redevelopment Commission to locate areas in need of an injection. Currently, the RDC has their sights set on a narrow corridor of LaGrange County, following S.R. 9 stretching from the northern edge of the town of LaGrange to the north of Howe.
