    BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio (WXIX) - Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones says his jail has had to expand the number of beds available due to the increase in US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainees. Three months ago, the Butler County Sheriff’s Office opened a portion of the jail to ICE. As part of the deal, Sheriff Jones would open 300 beds at the jail to hold detainees. They have already eclipsed that number in the three months.

    CINCINNATI (ENQUIRER) - It has become more expensive than ever to rent in the Cincinnati area, based on a new report that show’s the median asking rent for apartments in Cincinnati hit an all-time high of $1,460 a month in May, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports. The typical rent was up 7.4% from the same month a year ago. That’s the biggest increase in rents among the 50 largest metro areas in the country, according to the report from Redfin, a national real estate brokerage.

For veterans who can’t fly, organizers with the Honor Flight Tri-State are lending them their wings to experience the nation’s capital from home.

    CINCINNATI (WXIX) - A suspect’s Facebook post helped lead to his arrest after he crashed a stolen vehicle into a school playground, Hamilton County court records show. Nathaniel Frazier is charged with vandalism, receiving stolen property and obstructing official business, according to the court records. On May 13, court records say Frazier drove a 2017 Dodge Challenger into the U-Haul parking garage on Calhoun Street. The car was reported stolen out of Franklin County, Ohio.

This is an issue the highway patrol is very aware of, and has become such an issue that groups of people hoping to race will make their own roadblocks along the interstate. “It’s not safe, it’s irresponsible,” Sgt. Tyler Ross said. “You’re driving a deadly weapon down the roadway, you know, you have to take it serious. You have to be responsible behind the wheel.
