AbstractSingle-cell RNA sequencing (scRNAseq) is a crucial tool in kidney research. These technologies cluster cells according to transcriptome similarity, irrespective of the anatomical location and ordering within the nephron. Thus, a cluster transcriptome may obscure heterogeneity of the cell population within a nephron segment. Elevated dietary fructose leads to salt-sensitive hypertension, in part by fructose reabsorption in the proximal tubule (PT).

Trei Cruz Physical Description and Background: Cruz, a third generation professional baseball player and son of current Rice University head baseball and former Tiger’s hitting coach, Jose Cruz Jr. Over 3 seasons at Rice, Trei Cruz posted an .887 which prompted the Tigers to pick him in the 3rd round of the 2020 MLB draft. Cruz had also been drafted twice before in the 35 and 37 round but ultimately opted not so sign, a decision that paid off for Cruz. Listed at 6’1 204. Hit-45A switch-hitter.
