AbstractCaspases regulate and execute a spectrum of functions including cell deaths, non-apoptotic developmental functions, and stress responses. Despite these disparate roles, the same core cell-death machinery is required to enzymatically activate caspase proteolytic activities. Thus, it remains enigmatic how distinct caspase functions are differentially regulated.

A local foundation has received the second-largest donation in its 100-year history. The Dayton Foundation landed a $13.9 million gift from the estates of longtime fund holders Robert C. Appenzeller and his wife, Phyllis Appenzeller, for the R.C. Appenzeller Family Foundation. The gift is the second-largest planned gift in the foundation’s 103-year history and cements a treasured family’s legacy in greater Dayton.

Through this revitalization, the group hopes to create a charming, prosperous and interactive downtown Troy. Breinich has served as founder/executive director of Sidney Alive since 2016.
