A Scottish boy took on the challenge of running 100 miles to help raise money for his sibling’s first wheelchair. Theo Hardie’s little brother Jude was born with spina bifida and hydrocephalus and has undergone a series of operations. Although healthy, Jude has limited use of his legs. When he was five, Theo challenged himself to cycle 100 miles to and from nursery to raise money for the Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus charity.

Hollywood star Glen Powell has been spotted filming a bus stunt scene in Glasgow as shooting for JJ Abrams’ latest blockbuster continues across the city. The Twisters star was seen jumping and landing on the ground as he chased a girl in orange while filming for the epic American fantasy titled Ghostwriter. Filming started in Glasgow on Saturday after principal photography began in London on April 26. The crew previously filmed scenes in Edinburgh.

A man has appeared in court charged with murder after the body of a man was discovered on a road in Perthshire. Emergency services were called to the Dunning to Kinross road at around 7am on Friday after Stephen Speedie, 29, was found dead. Police initially arrested a 40-year-old woman and two men, aged 36 and 42, in connection with the incident. John Higgins, from Perth and Kinross, made no plea during an appearance at Perth Sheriff Court on Monday.

A person has been taken to hospital following a crash in the Highlands. Emergency services were alerted to the crash that happened on the A82 near Dochgarroch at around 6am Sunday. Traffic Scotland confirmed the road was closed in both directions at around 9.50am. Officers confirmed that one person was taken to hospital following the collision. Police Scotland confirmed the road had reopened at around 5pm.

Aberdeen have signed their third Australian of the summer after targeting former Portsmouth striker Kusini Yengi. The 26-year-old will arrive at Pittodrie on a free transfer when his Fratton Park contract expires in the coming days. Yengi – whose brother Tete plays for Livingston – has scored six goals in 11 internationals for the Socceroos.
