    A crofter has shared images of the moment she saw one of her lambs being snatched by a sea eagle in the Scottish Highlands. Caitrìona Anna NicDhòmhnaill, who works in the Lochaber area, said she and her husband watched “helplessly” as one of their lambs was grabbed by the bird at around 7am on Easter Sunday. Mrs NicDhòmhnaill’s friend, Karen Samson, who was staying with her at the time, managed to capture the moment on camera.

    An extra £585,000 has been set aside to bolster Renfrewshire Council efforts to tackle poverty and inequality against the backdrop of the cost-of-living crisis. Elected members agreed the sum should be added to the £450,000 already allocated to the Fairer Renfrewshire war chest for 2025/26 during the budget process.     Plans to restore an Art Deco pavilion have taken a step forward as structural works begin in Argyll and Bute. It comes after the Scottish Government committed £25m to the ten-year rural growth deal, £9m of which will be used for the refurbishment project. The refurbishment plans will see the 1938 art deco Rothesay Pavilion on the Isle of Bute transformed into a “vibrant hub” for leisure, culture, and entertainment.

    An appeal to trace a man has been launched following an attempted robbery at a premises in Glasgow. Police Scotland released an image of a man they believe may be able to assist in their investigation into an attempted robbery on Byres Road at around 3pm on March, 3. The man is described as white, around 6ft2, between 60 and 70 years old, of slim build. Officers said the man was seen wearing a beret, a black jacket, a blue zipped jumper with a white stripe, and glasses.

    A man has died after a crash involving a car and lorry on the A96 in Aberdeenshire. Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash on the Aberdeen to Elgin road, near Huntly, at around 11am on Wednesday. The incident involved a black Skoda Camiq and a white Iveco box van. A 78-year-old man, the driver of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other reported injuries. Officers confirmed the road remained closed at around 5pm and that diversions are in place.
