A person has been taken to hospital after a three-vehicle crash on the A98 in Moray. Emergency services were called to the crash involving three vehicles near Buckie at around 11.10am on Thursday. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service dispatched three fire engines to the scene. One casualty was taken to Elgin’s Dr Gray’s Hospital by ambulance. Another casualty was checked by paramedics at the scene but did not require hospital treatment.

Metallica are set to make their long-awaited return to Scotland this summer. The band announced they would be bringing their M72 World Tour to Glasgow’s Hampden Park for one night only on June 25. Following the Scottish show, the band will go on to play the Principality Stadium in Cardiff and the London Stadium. The tour, which started in Amsterdam in 2023, has seen the band perform for over four million fans worldwide.

Two lorry drivers have been charged following a crash on the A82 in the Highlands. Emergency services were called to the crash involving a car and two lorries on the road near South Laggan, south of Invergarry, at around 4.20pm on Wednesday. A passenger in the car was taken to the hospital for treatment. Officers confirmed both lorry drivers, a 36-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, were charged in connection with a driving offence.

A woman has died following a crash involving a van and a car on the A75 in Dumfries and Galloway. Emergency services were called to the Gretna to Stranraer road near Skyreburn following the crash involving a red Suzuki Ignis and a white Peugeot Partner van around around 11.20pm on Wednesday. A passenger in the Suzuki, a 76-year-old woman, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious injuries but later died. The driver of the Suzuki, a 74-year-old man, was not injured.

Royal Navy warships and helicopters were activated after receiving reports of Russian activity in UK waters for the second time this month. HMS Dragon monitored a Russian intelligence gathering ship Yuri Ivanov as it loitered in waters off the Outer Hebrides following the completion of major NATO exercise Formidable Shield that took place nearby. The incident marked the second time Russian activity was reported in UK waters within weeks.
