And most voters in Multnomah County can weigh in on one of two big money measures: a proposed $1.83 billion bond to modernize schools put forth by Portland Public Schools or what would be only the third the construction bond issued in Mt. Hood Community College’s nearly 60-year history. But your opinion doesn’t count if you don’t vote.

The survey reached 600 metro residents – a sufficient size to assess the opinions of the area’s adult population across age, gender, education and political affiliation.

The Hawthorne Bridge is stuck in the raised position, making it impassable for cars, bikes, buses and pedestrians, Multnomah County officials cautioned Tuesday evening. They say electricians have been summoned to try to fix the problem. But in the meantime, people are advised to seek an alternative crossing of the Willamette River.
