A teal ribbon with a card is how a local agency is raising awareness about sexual assault in the community. The Cumbee Center to Assist Abused Persons has placed teal ribbons throughout downtown areas in North Augusta, Aiken, Edgefield and Barnwell to promote education and awareness during Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), observed in April. A contact card is attached to them so anyone can reach out to the Cumbee Center to utilize their services.

Rainbows, crafts and a life-sized unicorn costume helped bring the magic to National Unicorn Day at Nancy Carson Library. Children and families gathered for a morning of whimsy on April 9, taking part in unicorn-themed storytime, hands-on crafts, sweet treats and a visit from a pink inflatable unicorn that had kids laughing and lining up for hugs and photos.

AUGUSTA — Black caddies were not just an important part of Augusta's golf history, but also the city's Black history. So an experience that tells the story of several of those caddies to keep their stories alive is what the Lucy C. Laney Museum of Black History created to celebrate them during Masters Week. “This story is a rich slice of Augusta’s history in one of the famous golf courses in the world," said Corey Rogers, the museum's executive director.
