SEC commissioner Greg Sankey has seen enough. In a memo Friday to league athletic directors and head football coaches, he detailed the sanctions if players continue to fake injuries in games. “As plainly as it can be stated: Stop any and all activity related to faking injuries to create timeouts,” Sankey wrote in the memo, a copy of which was obtained by ESPN.

NFL owners will meet on Tuesday, August 27, in Minneapolis to continue their discussion on private equity, the league confirmed Saturday. The NFL hosted private equity executives at the league’s Park Ave. headquarters Thursday, as the world’s richest sports league moves to open its doors to institutional investors. At the Thursday meeting, Commissioner Roger Goodell told owners to be prepared for a potential meeting Aug. 27 should a private equity vote be required.

USC star freshman Bronny James, the oldest son of Lakers star LeBron James, made his college basketball debut Sunday in the Trojans’ 84-79 overtime loss to Long Beach State. He played only 16 minutes and finished with four points, three rebounds, two steals and a block. Playing on a minutes restriction, his debut came less than five months after going into cardiac arrest during a preseason workout on July 24.
