The Boston LGBTQ+ Museum of Art, History & Culture had a big idea: bring the museum to the people. Jean Dolin, a Haitian immigrant raised in Dorchester, got the idea for the museum in 2020 after years working in politics and journalism. The museum doesn’t have a physical space and instead brings exhibits to places around the city, from Boston Common to the Seaport District.

A man was shot multiple times on Standard Street in Mattapan on Wednesday evening (June 11), according to Boston Police, who are investigating the incident this week. According to a BPD report, the unnamed victim was found suffering from gunshot wounds on the street by officers called to the scene inside the Gallivan Housing development off Morton Street just after 6 p.m. He was transported from the scene with what BPD termed “non-life threatening” injuries. No arrests have been reported yet.

The largest building in New England will officially be renamed next month in honor of the late Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, some eight months after the Legislature ordered the change. The Mass. Convention Center Authority announced on Tuesday that it will hold an event on Sat., July 12, to formally relabel the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center in the Seaport as the Thomas Michael Menino Convention and Exhibition Center.
