ST THOMAS, N.D. — A North Dakota man has been charged after he allegedly emailed violent threats to a federal prosecutor and referenced the recent assassination and assassination attempt in Minnesota. Charles Dalzell, 46, of St. Thomas, North Dakota, allegedly sent an email Sunday night that said, "Now I'm going to be honest with you, I don't want this situation to end up like Minnesota over the weekend, do you?" according to the federal criminal complaint.

NEW HOPE, Minn. — A KARE 11 viewer took a few photos of the flash flooding that followed a fast-moving storm that blew through the west metro. Pete Boisclair took the pics along North 42nd Avenue in New Hope, just between Oregon Avenue North and Quebec Avenue North around 3 p.m. Monday. Boisclair said some vehicles were able to get through the flooded streets but at least a couple of cars got flooded and damaged. KARE 11's Dana Thiede shot a video of a flooded intersection in New Hope.

BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. — KARE 11 has learned that two DFL state lawmakers were shot along with their spouses in "targeted" attacks, officials said. Gov. Tim Walz said State Rep. and Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman of Brooklyn Park and her husband, Mark, were killed. He said State Sen. John Hoffman of Champlin and his wife, Yvette, were shot multiple times and are recovering. Both couples were shot at their homes and police believe the shooter was posing as a law enforcement officer.
