    (Cleveland)- White County is getting some additional outdoor warning sirens. On Monday, the White County Board of Commissioners approved the purchase of three additional warning sirens. White County Public Safety Director David Murphy told the commissioners that these new sirens will be located at Yonah Preserve, Skylake Community, and White County High School.

    (Cleveland)-  A Homer man has been arrested in White County for several drug charges. The White County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that on Wednesday, March 26, White County Crime Suppression Units conducted a traffic stop on a red Ford Ranger in the area of Skitts Mountain Road and Campground Road. The release said that during the traffic stop, K9 Jelly was deployed and a free air sniff of the vehicle and probable cause was established.

    (Gainesville)- The USDA Forest Service has implemented a campfire ban across the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest in response to heightened fire danger caused by dry conditions due to weeks of high winds and low relative humidity. This Forest-wide restriction will further reduce the risk of human-caused wildfires in the area. The campfire ban is effective immediately and will remain in place until further notice.
