TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — The Pima County Sheriff’s Department responded to reports of a crash involving a pedestrian near Vail. The incident occurred on Jan. 9 at around 7:19 p.m. at the 15000 block of South Houghton Road. As deputies arrived, 69-year-old Eileen Wood was found unresponsive and pronounced dead. Deputies say Wood and her husband were crossing Houghton Road in the dark when she was hit by a car driving south on Houghton Road. The investigation remains ongoing.

TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — At around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Foothills District deputies from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department rushed to respond to a traffic crash at North La Cholla Boulevard and North McCarty Road intersection. On arrival, they found a collision involving three vehicles. The first one, possibly without headlights, was heading north on La Cholla Boulevard. The crash happened when the second vehicle, traveling south on La Cholla, made a left turn, heading east on McCarty Road.

TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — The Pima County Sheriff’s Department responded to a shooting report near East Lamb Drive and North Oracle Road on Tuesday at 2:20 p.m. They found 47-year-old James McLaughlin injured from a gunshot. Life-saving measures were administered until the Golder Ranch Fire Department took over, transporting McLaughlin to a local hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect, 46-year-old Clifford Bretthauer, ran away from the scene during the assault.

TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — The Oro Valley Police Department (OVPD) responded to a road rage incident which started at Ironwood Ridge High School (IRHS) and extended to Richard B. Wilson K-8 School. Officers say it happened Wednesday, Jan. 10 in the parking lot of IRHS and continued into the parking lot of Wilson K-8. Apparently, the situation is under investigation now. No arrests were made either. According to the OVPD, there is no known threat to students.

TUCSON, Ariz. (KGUN) — U.S. District Judge John C. Hinderaker sentenced Whitney Adams from Hagerstown, Md. to 48 months in prison and ordered him to pay over $1 million in restitution to 17 victims Tuesday. The 27-year-old pleaded guilty to Conspiracy to Commit Money Laundering on May 16, 2023. Court documents reveal he was involved in a money laundering scheme between January 2021 and April 2022, helping scammers in an online fraud scheme.
