Joseph Riley is ready for a new beginning seven months after his famed and classic Irish public house was destroyed by a fire. A fire ripped through Riley’s Pour House on East Main Street in Carnegie in November, devastating employees and patrons who saw the 45-year-old pub as the “fabric of their lives,” Mr. Riley said.

A unique aircraft will land in Indiana County-Jimmy Stewart Airport this weekend, a P-51 Mustang that once belonged to the iconic actor from Indiana, Pa.Visitors will be able to see the plane, nicknamed “The Thunderbird,” and talk with the North Dakota man who restored it. good planeWarren Pietsch, who owns the P-51C, will fly the airplane from his hometown of Minot, N.D., to the Indiana County-Jimmy Steward Airport, where it will be displayed May 16-18 in an airport hangar.

When Anthony R. Vitale went to the Three Rivers Arts Festival in 1967, he saw several large metal sculptures and said to his daughter, Patrice, “I can do that, too.”Most of the people who say that soon find out making art is harder than it looks. But Vitale discovered he could indeed create metal sculptures that equaled or surpassed those he saw on display at the festival. A year later, one of his works was selected for the 1968 festival.

After Austin Pilz earned a degree in computer science from the University of Pittsburgh in 2017, he left for Boston to work as a software engineer. During holidays, he returned home to Scott Township and sometimes cracked open his Chartiers Valley High School yearbook, class of 2013. “I always loved my community. It was special for me to look back at myself in the yearbook and remember where I came from,” he said.
