Pittman says increases to Medicaid spending are a huge issue, and Pennsylvania can’t accommodate a $2 billion increase in Medicaid funding.

On Wednesday at midnight, the district will no longer be under receivership, meaning the school board will resume governance of the district. The district says that governance has been in the hands of a court-appointed receiver for the past six years, following a hearing due to the Pennsylvania Department of Education petitioning the court to have the state assume control of the district.
