LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) — A Lancaster County man will spend at least two years in prison after he pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, accused of breaking his infant daughter’s bones. Bryan Garcia-Almanza, 26, of Mount Joy, was sentenced to 33 months to eight years in state prison last week. He had been accused of injuring his infant daughter last year.

SHENANDOAH – The chairman of the Shenandoah Municipal Sewer Authority issued a public apology at this month’s meeting at borough hall Wednesday afternoon. Robert Shumski, 76, of Turkey Run, pleaded guilty last week to two summary charges related to a scuffle borough police said broke out when he was campaigning for borough council votes. He is not on the primary ballot for a council seat. He provided a brief statement at the beginning of Wednesday’s regular sewer authority meeting.

MAHANOY CITY – The Bishop of the Diocese of Allentown is calling the detonation of an “explosive device” at a Mahanoy City chapel an act of the “darkest evil” as police say it caused $15,000 in damage. Kyle Joseph Kuczynski, 32, of East Centre Street, was denied bail as he faces felony arson and reckless burning charges among others. According to Mahanoy City Police, he set off an “explosive device” inside the chapel at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish on West Mahanoy Street Tuesday night.
