South Carolina women’s basketball head coach Dawn Staley was inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame in an enshrinement ceremony tonight at the Bahrain National Theater in Bahrain. It joins the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame (Class of 2013) and the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame (Class of 201) on the legendary player’s resume. Staley is a three-time Olympic champion and two-time FIBA World Cup winner in her decade of wearing a USA Basketball jersey.

DURHAM, N.C. – The Coastal Carolina softball team split a doubleheader at the NCAA Durham Regional, defeating Howard 9-1 before its season came to an end with an 16-8 loss to No. 14 national seed Duke. Game 1: Howard 1, Coastal 9 (5 innings)Howard struck first in the top of the first inning when Alyssa Vasquez hit a two-out solo home run over the left-field wall to take a 1-0 lead. Coastal answered in the bottom of the second inning.

HAMPTON, Va. — No. 8 Coastal Carolina flexed the offense again on Saturday, routing Old Dominion 12-1 in seven innings at War Memorial Stadium to complete its sixth-straight weekend sweep and extend its winning streaks to 14 games overall and 18 games in Sun Belt Conference play. The Chanticleers (44-11, 26-4 SBC) scored 11 runs over their final three at-bats and got a long-awaited home run from Ty Barrango, whose three-run blast to deep center in the sixth inning broke the game wide open.

DURHAM, N.C. – The Coastal Carolina softball team suffered a 6-3 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs in its first game of the Durham Regional on Friday afternoon. The Chanticleers came out strong, as Delaney Keith laced a single through the right side to get on base in the top of the first inning. Georgia Hood followed with a two-run home run over the center-field wall to give Coastal a 2-0 lead. The inning continued when Keirstin Roose reached scoring position with a walk and a stolen base.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) — Ryan Fox of New Zealand chipped in from just outside 50 feet on the first playoff hole to win the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic on Sunday for his first PGA TOUR title, sending him back to the PGA Championship. Fox closed with a 5-under 66 that looked like it might not be enough when Mackenzie Hughes came to the 18th hole with a one-shot lead.
