COLUMBIA, S.C. — Friday was the first day of summer, and slightly drier air moved into the area that lasted through the afternoon. This led to lower dew points and seasonable temperatures. However, next week warmer temperatures will impact the Midlands leading to potentially dangerous heat index values, or feels-like temperatures. COLUMBIA, S.C. — Multiple rounds of storms have moved across the Midlands over the weekend, bringing damaging winds and heavy rainfall. Many areas across the Midlands reported wind damage and power outages over the weekend. The stormy weather could continue into the start of the week with more chances for severe weather on Monday.
