SU graduate student midfielder Sam English was selected third overall by the California Redwoods. English, a speedy two-way midfielder, is one of the most versatile talents in the game. He can line up on the wing for face-offs and was added to SU’s man-down unit as a short-stick defender.

The Orange will arrive home on Sunday night with a trophy and a likely first-round home game in the NCAA Tournament at the JMA Wireless Dome locked in. Syracuse defeated Duke 9-8 on Sunday afternoon at American Legion Memorial Stadium to win its first ACC Championship since 2016.

Shemaj Henry of Chester, Pa. announced his commitment to SU on social media on Saturday morning. Henry is listed at six-foot-eight, 330 pounds. He is not currently ranked in the 247 sports composite or on Rivals. Henry was offered a scholarship by Syracuse during an unofficial visit on March 31. He is set for an official visit to Syracuse on June 13.
