It’s understood a car crashed into a house in Lurgan early on Friday morning. PSNI Sergeant Murray said officers responded to the incident which happened in the Kiln Road area at around 5.30am alongside colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service. “Three people who were travelling in the vehicle were taken to hospital for treatment for injuries which at this time, are not believed to be life threatening," they added.

It followed a number of burglaries in the Templemore Avenue and Harcourt areas of the city. The 31-year-old suspect was detained after being spotted alongside a woman in the Ravenhill Park area at around 8.30pm on Wednesday by officers on patrol. “However, when they saw police, both parties ran off,” a PSNI spokesperson said. “The man was subsequently located in shrubbery to the rear of some houses.

NI Railways and Ulsterbus workers have given strong backing for industrial action in a dispute over pay, with the union warning it could cause major transport disruption over the coming months. Transport Salaried Staffs’ Association (TSSA) balloted members who work in supervisor grades — including railway controllers — as well as staff in clerical and management positions on whether they were prepared to take strike action and action short of a strike.
