A Van Buren mother was found guilty of murdering her 3-month-old son, Greyson, according to the judge's office administrator.Rachel Dukes is accused of giving her 3-month-old baby a bottle that contained methamphetamine.A Crawford County jury of seven women and five men convicted Dukes of first-degree murder.Dukes was also found guilty on three counts of introducing a controlled substance into the body of a person.

Rachel Dukes is accused of giving her 3-month-old baby a bottle that contained methamphetamine.On Tuesday, a Crawford County jury of seven women and five men was selected to decide the fate of the Van Buren mother, who has been charged with the murder of her infant son, Greyson Strickland.According to a probable cause affidavit, on March 30, 2024, a neighbor of Dukes called 911, reporting that Greyson was not breathing.

On Saturday, Sebastian County deputies arrested a woman accused of trying to get tobacco to an inmate, according to a news release sent by the Sebastian County Sheriff's Office. Robert L. Johnson, 33, of Fort Smith, wrote letters to a jailer asking for $1,000 in exchange for helping to smuggle in tobacco, a lighter, and rolling papers, according to the release. The jailer showed his bosses the letters. Investigators with the sheriff's office arranged a meeting with Kuyria B.

Crawford County is intensifying efforts to monitor and ensure compliance among registered sex offenders through more rigorous checks. Sheriff Daniel Perry told 40/29 News that investigators have a targeted focus on verifying email addresses and online profiles as part of compliance protocols. With 256 registered sex offenders in the county, compliance checks have become increasingly stringent.
