In Fort Smith, Sebastian County, senior centers are grappling with significant funding shortfalls that are impacting the availability of free meals for qualified seniors. Currently, the number of meals served monthly has plummeted from 28,000-30,000 to just 14,000, leaving vulnerable seniors with unmet needs. The county's senior centers have already been reduced from nine locations to five, and more service cuts could be on the horizon.
