Two people were wounded after gunfire broke out at a Victorville apartment complex on Thursday evening, officials said. The shooting was first reported about 7:15 p.m. in the 14700 block of Seneca Road, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. A man and a woman were found suffering from gunshot wounds, according to sheriff's department spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez. Investigators are seeking clues after a man was found stabbed a park in Victorville on Thursday morning, law enforcement officials said. The attack unfolded shortly before 7:15 a.m. at Mesa Linda Park, in the 13100 block of Mesa Linda Avenue, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department logs. An employee working at the park discovered a 23-year-old man lying near the park's bathroom suffering from stab wounds, department spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez said.

A funeral is being held Thursday in Ontario to honor the life of San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department Deputy Hector Cuevas Jr., who was killed in a crash while pursuing a suspect through Victorville last month. Cuevas, 36, died March 17 following a crash at the intersection of Seneca and El Evado roads in Victorville. He was in pursuit of a stolen vehicle that had been driving recklessly through the city at high speeds when his patrol car collided with an uninvolved vehicle, officials said.
