A New York woman is facing charges after police said she drugged and stole Rolexes from multiple men she met at South Beach bars dating back to at least 2023. Brittney G. Scott, 28, of Brooklyn, was arrested Tuesday on three counts of grand theft and one count of burglary with assault or battery, Miami-Dade jail records showed. Miami Police said Scott is responsible for at least three thefts involving luxury watches and there could be more victims.

Wildlife officials have identified a woman who was killed in an alligator attack while she was canoeing with her husband in central Florida. Cynthia Diekema, 61, of Davenport, was canoeing with her husband near the mouth of Tiger Creek into Lake Kissimmee in Polk County Tuesday afternoon when they encountered a gator, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials said Wednesday.

Three men were arrested in a human trafficking operation in Miami-Dade that took place during the Miami Grand Prix, authorities said. "Operation Grease Monkey" involved multiple agencies and was held over three days while the Formula One race was in town at Hard Rock Stadium, the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office said Tuesday. Detectives placed prostitution ads and people who responded were told they could pay for sex acts with a 12 or 14-year-old child, authorities said.

Authorities are investigating a suspected bear attack in southwest Florida that left a man and a dog dead, officials said. Robert Markel, 89, was discovered dead along with his dog at his home near the community of Jerome in Collier County after authorities were called shortly after 7 a.m., Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission spokesperson George Reynaud said. He and his dog were found in different areas, within a couple hundred yards of each other, Reynaud told reporters.

The parents of a paramedic killed in a wrong-way crash on the Florida's Turnpike in Broward earlier this year went before a judge Thursday to make an emotional plea for the woman charged in the alleged DUI incident to stay behind bars. A bond court hearing was held for 45-year-old Sunshine Perez, who faces charges including DUI manslaughter, vehicular homicide and reckless driving in the Jan. 9 crash that killed 23-year-old Ezekiel "Zeke" Urrutia.
