    A 16-year-old boy was among those hurt in a shooting that started in Little Haiti under circumstances that authorities continue to investigate. Shots were first fired on Monday at around 2 p.m. near Northwest 56th Street and Third Avenue, Miami police said. One of the victims, a 16-year-old, was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital. Police did not elaborate on his condition, but did say he was alert and conscious when he arrived at the hospital.

    The first significant rain in weeks left its mark on South Florida, as storms moved quickly especially through parts of Miami-Dade County on Sunday. Videos captured how heavy downpours soaked South Florida, and high winds even knocked down trees and power for hours in some neighborhoods. One downed tree blocked the street near Jeannette Perez-Gruber's home in southwest Miami-Dade, and left her in the dark four about seven hours. "Thunder, a lot of rain... disaster," she said, describing the ordeal.

    A man was arrested after his mother said he set her Coral Springs house on fire Thursday night. Jacquelin Louima said she was at her home on Northwest 73rd Way when she noticed something was wrong around 10:30 p.m."My cousin was in the living room... he say ' Jack Jack, don't do it, don't do it,'" Louima said. She said the next thing she knows, her son, Jacqulin Oneuil, who goes by Jack and suffers from a mental illness, was pouring gasoline on her floor.

    Police are combing for clues after shots were fired outside a Miramar lounge overnight. Miramar police said they received ShotSpotter alerts from the area of the 6200-6300 block of Miramar Parkway, "stemming from an incident near Champions Lounge."Police said they responded and stopped several vehicles leaving the area, but those people were determined not be involved. No victims were found, authorities said.
