NORFOLK (WAVY) – Old Dominion held its annual spring game scrimmage on Saturday at SB Ballard Stadium. On an 80 degree day and under sunny, blue skies, coach Ricky Rahne got a final look at his team before summer practices in a few months. Quarterback Colton Joseph took reps with the first team offense and made some plays with his legs, but his most impressive play was a long pass down the sideline to 6-foot-3 JUCO wide receiver Ja’Cory Thomas which led to the first touchdown of the afternoon.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WAVY) — When the Masters tees off Thursday in Augusta, Evan Beck from Virginia Beach will be one of the five amateurs in the field. The 34-year-old Beck qualified for the Masters by winning the U.S. Mid-Amateur outside of Richmond. A former standout at Norfolk Academy, Beck was a two-time All-American at Wake Forest. He floundered as a pro on the second-tier tours before focusing on his career in the corporate world.
