NORFOLK, Va. — What was supposed to be a hometown title defense for Keyshawn Davis will now be a bittersweet return. The reigning WBO Lightweight Champion missed weight by four pounds ahead of Saturday night’s main event against Edwin De Los Santos, forcing him to vacate his title. “I outgrew the weight,” Davis said following Friday’s weigh-in. “Been making this weight for over four years now.

When an NHL team signs a player, it’s based a lot on how he’s played in the past and how that projects to his future. For the average onlooker, that is judged mostly by goals and assists. HAMPTON, Va. — The defending Class 4 Region A champions are headed back to the state tournament — but it took extra innings to get there. Gloucester High jumped out to an early lead Monday night, but needed eight innings to edge Smithfield 4-3 in a thrilling regional semifinal. The game-winner came off the bat of Colter Callis, whose single in the bottom of the eighth scored Hank Hardaway and sent the home crowd into celebration.
