NORFOLK, Va. — Norfolk Emergency Communications reports there is a Norfolk Fire-Rescue response at a strip of businesses on West 21st Street Wednesday morning. The active scene is unfolding at the local restaurant Crudo Nudo, next to Mr. Shwarma in the 700 block of W 21st Street. Firefighters have a ladder up against the restaurant and are working on the building's roof. Fire officials have not yet confirmed details about the incident.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — No injuries were reported because of a commercial fire in Virginia Beach Thursday afternoon. The fire was reported around 4 p.m. at the Pembroke Crossings Shoppes, according to a Virginia Beach Fire Department spokeswoman. That's in the Bayside Borough part of the city. Fire and smoke were coming from the rooftop of a strip mall, when firefighters arrived at the scene.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD) confirms a crash involving a city school bus Thursday afternoon. The crash happened just before 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of London Bridge Road and Hornet Drive. As of 3:15 p.m., VBPD was still responding to the crash at the scene, a spokesman said. Students were on the bus at the time of the crash, but none were injured, police said.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — A vehicle crash involving a marked police vehicle is blocking traffic on Jefferson Avenue Thursday afternoon. The crash happened around 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Mercury Boulevard. Police say two other vehicles were involved in the crash. A spokesperson for the Newport News Police Department said that the officer driving the marked police vehicle had his lights and sirens going while driving to a call for service.
