AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) – Local seafood lovers were left adrift Monday with the sudden closures of four Western New York Red Lobster restaurants. Locations on Maple Road and Transit Road in Amherst, along with spots in Blasdell and Lakewood, are all listed as “temporarily closed.”A handful of other locations across the country have also closed, while others remain open. Last year, the chain reported an $11 million quarterly loss, blaming its endless shrimp promotion.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – The federal government is looking to talk to one of the jurors from the trial of former DEA agent Joseph Bongiovanni. The jury could not come to an agreement on 12 of the 15 charges levied against the former agent, including the more serious charges of conspiracy, accepting bribes, and drug-related offenses. The jury found Bongiovanni guilty earlier this month only on lesser charges of obstruction of justice and making false statements.

OKLAHOMA CITY, N.Y. (WIVB) — People in Oklahoma City marked a solemn anniversary Friday morning. They held a ceremony to mark 29 years since the deadly explosion at the Murrah Federal Building. The explosives used in the attack were in a truck parked next to the building. In all, 168 people were killed and many more were hurt, including children in the building’s nursery. Timothy McVeigh, of Pendleton, and Terry Nichols were arrested and convicted for the attack.
