CAREFUL WHAT YOU ASK FOR — A man got too close to a bull elk while in his vehicle and ended up paying the price when the animal rammed into his front tire. The encounter was caught on camera and posted on Instagram by @tylerterryberry and was later shared on AccuWeather’s Facebook page on April 17, 2025. The Facebook caption said the incident happened on a Colorado road. Video shows an elk standing in the road as a car approaches the animal. “Watch out buddy,” a man is heard saying.

IDAHO FALLS — Idaho Ballet Theatre will be putting on its spring performance next week, featuring over 100 local children, and community members are invited to attend. IBT puts on two performances every year. During the winter, they always perform “The Nutcracker,” and in the spring, they showcase something different. This year, IBT is performing “The Little Mermaid.” The show will take place on May 2 and May 3 at 7 p.m. at The Colonial Theater at 450 A. Street in Idaho Falls.

IDAHO FALLS — The East Idaho Home and Garden Show taking place this weekend will be “bigger and better than ever,” say organizers. The show will take place Friday from noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Mountain America Center and Hero Arena in Idaho Falls. The show focuses on home improvement and outdoor living, with a wide range of products and services for inside and outside the home. More than 200 exhibitors will be in attendance.

SUGAR CITY — Boys in Sugar City were told they’d be arrested if they kept disturbing the peace, the Sugar City Times reported on April 16, 1914. Judge Health gave several boys a “good talking to” and let them go, but the last to appear before Health was sentenced to 24 hours in jail.

A FRIGHTENING SCENE — A woman is miraculously alive after a massive tree fell on her car while she was inside her vehicle. The incident was caught on camera outside of a gas station, and the shocking footage was shared by ABC11 on April 8, 2025. Video shows a car driving on a road in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, when it comes to a stop in front of a huge tree that’s off to the driver’s right-hand side. Out of nowhere, the tree comes crashing down, slamming right on top of the stopped car.
