LOUISVILLE, Ky. — In less than 24 hours, 84 veterans from World War II, Vietnam and the Korean War eras will board a plane to Washington D.C. for a day-long trip they’ve waited years to take. It’s the first Honor Flight Bluegrass trip of the year, and Lt. Col. Mary Clark is the only female veteran boarding Tuesday's flight. "It doesn’t seem like it’s been 50 years at all, " she said. "I can still see things as if it was yesterday." Clark joined the Air Force as a Lieutenant in the 1960’s.

Two brothers who served during the Vietnam War, will be on that flight together, some 50 years after wearing the uniform.

She dispatches fire, police and EMS crews and may also be the one who answers the call when you need help.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Every 8 minutes someone in the United States is added to the organ transplant waiting list. The majority are in need of a kidney. That was the case for Otway Mayfield, a Louisville native, whose long family history of kidney disease left no room for debate. He needed to find a donor. Little did he know at the time, it would be someone he knew. “Who would’ve thought all those years ago, that we’d end up here," Tywa Hughes said.
