    MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — After another deadly shooting in the Muskegon area, violence prevention groups continue to work to make a difference in their community. Having lived in Muskegon Heights her whole life, 19-year-old Marquette McDaniel says there’s always been violence around her. “On a typical day, you can hear gunshots up the streets, up the block, across the tracks,” she said. “You’ll see kids running out the street, you’ll hear domestic violence going on across the street.

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Air quality reached unhealthy levels across the state Thursday as smoke from the Canadian wildfires drifted south. Michigan declared an air quality advisory lasting through noon Friday. Dr. Julia Becker, a physician in the Pulmonary and Critical Care Division at Corewell Health, takes care of patients with significant lung disease like asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
